OUR GARDEN reminisces on life, on the younger days in my life, the childlike bliss of not knowing anything, and times more somber than that. This work is a musical representation of those childhood experiences, the ones we are fond of, and the others we are not. Regardless, these experiences shape us, however bittersweet they may be.

This work is dear to me, as it was one of the first pieces I ever wrote. I had "finished" it a while back, though I shelved it for so long because I resented my approach at the time. After so long, I dusted off the work and decided to give it a second chance. I enjoyed the little melody I had created, and I wanted to give it new life in a garden of colors and textures that really resonated with me. I had new ideas and philosophies to explore in my writing, and in the end was able to turn a piece I thought so little of into one I was proud of. This piece was conceived nearly two years before its completion. It reminisces on life, on the younger days in my life, the childlike bliss of not knowing anything, and times more somber than that. Our Garden is a musical representation of those childhood experiences, the ones we are fond of, and the others we are not. Regardless, these experiences shape us, however bittersweet they may be.
